A Beautiful Day for Tai Chi & Qigong
Saturday, April 30th, looks like it is going to be an absolutely beautiful day to wake up and practice some Tai Chi and Qigong outdoors with a group of people at Umstead State Park in Raleigh, NC.
The free workshop starts at 10 a.m. and I am expecting a good size group of beginners, as well as those with varying experiencing to join in the celebration of World Tai Chi and Qigong day.
We will go through a variety of exercises during the approximately 90 minute free class, and the emphasis will be on enjoyment and soaking in the abundant energy that is available on a day where many thousands of people will be practicing Tai Chi and Qigong at 10 a.m. in their respective time zones.
The last time I taught a class on World Tai Chi & Qigong day in Cary, NC everyone felt the extra energy or Qi in their practice, so this is a rare opportunity to be part of this giant Qi field that is created once a year. In fact, it has been several years since I experienced it myself, so I’m quite excited to lead the class tomorrow. From now it will be a priority to offer this free class every single year, because it is really a fun and enjoyable event.
To everyone that responded and let me know they plan to attend, I am thankful and looking forward to seeing you on Saturday. If you have not yet responded and are still considering coming, please feel free to simply drop-in and even bring along some friends, as we have an entire open field at our disposal.
If you need directions please see the Free Qigong Workshop page on my website for a link to Google Maps.
Once you enter Umstead from US 70 you will want to drive in as far as you can and park in the last parking area. Walk up towards the picnic area and take the paved path to the right. If you continue along that path past some of the picnic tables you will see a flat open field set slightly down in and off to the right, which is where will be meeting and practicing.
Please dress appropriately and it wouldn’t be a bad idea to bring along some sun screen and bug spray just in case they are needed. There should be shade as the field is bordered on all sides by trees, but I cannot guarantee that we won’t be in the Sun for at least part of the time.
I look forward to making the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill Triangle event for World Tai Chi & Qigong day a big success.
